I think the Faith Formation Council provides a wonderful opportunity to see how hard our parish works to give all of us the ability to enhance our faith, our Catholic knowledge and our relationship with God. There are a lot of changes that take place and I think it is an informative outlet to the parish to make us aware of the changes. I joined because I was asked and I was curious. I really enjoy the discussions and getting to know other people in the parish. I am active with Altar and rosary and have shared with them information that I have learned from FFC meetings.

For the past five years, I have served as a committee member on the Faith Formation Council (FFC). I started my first term on the council at a time when the parish was beginning a visioning process that encompassed all aspects of parish life. It was exciting to have the opportunity to provide input to this process as a member of the FFC because; as we learned through the process, lifelong faith formation is essential to the ongoing growth of Catholic Christians. The members of the FFC have varied backgrounds and are committed members of the St. Theresa Parish faith community. It has been a joy to meet and discuss with the parish faith formation staff and council members how we can all contribute to the life of the parish and our shared mission to bring the message of Jesus to others.

I was invited several years ago to be a part of this council and originally had turned it down as I felt I was not learned”. However, when I received a second invitation the following year I felt I owed it to myself to check this
out; and I am glad I did. Being a part of the Faith Formation Council provided me an opportunity to become more aware of how multi-faceted our parish truly is. For me personally, I can say that I have grown in my own faith life,
become involved in something bigger than myself, able to share in an open forum, impact and support our parish’s faith formation team, and come to know many other parishioners on a new level. I currently serve as a member and a
co-chair of the council. Over the last many years I have been involved in the Wednesday faith formation program, most currently with the Edge middle-school program, and a part of the Confirmation team as St. Theresa moves
forward with the high school Confirmation program.

The Faith Formation Council has provided me with opportunities to increase my knowledge of my Catholic faith. I have learned about the programs, activities and information that the FFC provides to foster and nourish the
Catholic faith of adults, youth, and children at St. Theresa's. I joined because I was asked to be a member. I so enjoy the fellowship of everyone on the council. I am a greeter at Mass, a member of Altar and Rosary, and help
with funeral dinners.

Having been involved with Middle School and High School Youth Ministry for a few years in our parish, I was invited to join the FFC. I signed up as a way to get to know more about all aspects of faith formation offered at St. Theresa. I have been the secretary the last two years and enjoy getting to know everyone on the council. It is a
great way to see how faith formation can impact others and helps me to look at it in a different light. I have been a WFF catechist as well as help with Confirmation Retreats; I am a Lector and Eucharistic Minister and am a part of the Confirmation Team for the upcoming school year.

I became involved with the Faith Formation Council after being invited to attend a meeting, then discerning my interest, availability and commitment. Having taught “CCD” and Confirmation classes for 20 years, and spending
most of my career as a teacher, counselor and principal in Catholic Schools, I am very aware of the importance of early and ongoing faith formation. Growing up on a farm with 12 siblings we also learned early in our lives the necessity and obligation, and reward of service. Today I enthusiastically serve on the FFC, continue to grow in faith with the same Bible study group every Monday morning for the past six years, help with food intake for the homeless, visit elderly, and sing with a group of dedicated parishioners at St. Theresa funerals.
